Abandoned

The idea of division and classism rules so heavily in modern society, and most of the time, people are unaware of how disadvantaged some people are. People tend to live in their own world, rarely venturing into the world of others. Often they do not realize how others function from day to day. However, when we venture out of our comfort zones, we soon realize how different these classes are. It was easy to create these pictures because even though this town was not my own, it was similar to the one I came from. Relating to the desolate areas and the increase of abandoned buildings that once used to be full of life left to decay. Once a booming factory area with many workers who now struggle to make ends meet because the jobs there a decade ago left the town high and dry. Regarding the pictures, I wanted to capture the story of abandonment and helplessness that the other side of the tracks told. People are not given the same opportunities in life because of the hand they were dealt. Often pushed aside into a world that is forgotten and mistreated.
